If you’re looking for a more elegant approach to wearing a chronograph rather than the typical sporty style often associated with its tachymeter scale, there is an alternative choice.
The Overseas watch from Vacheron Constantin proves to be a stunning option for those who don’t require the functionality of measuring a vehicle’s speed and appreciate a touch of sophistication.
Normally, we lean towards accessories in darker hues like black DLC or gunmetal, but this timepiece stands out with its 42.5 mm round case made of 18K 5N pink gold. This luxurious metal extends to its see-through case back, bracelet, and various parts of its design.
The Overseas captivates with its polished and satin finishes, offering a visually appealing appearance from all perspectives. Its dial, protected by sapphire crystal, showcases a sunburst texture and blue lacquer. The minute track is located on the flange, while the baton hour markers are elegantly applied on the layer beneath.
Three chronograph sub-dials are positioned at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock. The date window is nestled between the 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock markers, with the Vacheron Constantin logo proudly displayed at 12 o’clock. Illumination can be found on the Overseas hands and hour markers.
Looking through the sapphire crystal case back, you’ll discover a 22K gold oscillating weight that winds the in-house Caliber 5200 automatic movement, boasting a 52-hour power reserve. The intricate design is said to be “inspired by the wind rose, a tribute to the spirit of travel,” as explained by Vacheron Constantin.
In addition to the 18K 5N pink gold bracelet, the Overseas watch comes with two additional options: a dark blue calfskin strap and a dark blue rubber strap. The price tag for this timepiece is set at $73,000.
