Once a closely guarded secret of Hong Kong’s elite, The Green Room at The Upper House has emerged as an essential stop, introducing Moonlight—an enchanting new after-hours experience that combines cutting-edge sounds with seasonal mixology.
Inspired by backstage lounges where artists unwind after performances, The Green Room shifts its emphasis from spectacle to purposefulness. Bar Manager Gail Lanorias has designed a cocktail menu that embodies a “complex but not complicated” approach, inviting guests to discover flavors at their leisure. Notable choices include Golden Child, a botanical blend of Nordes Gin, house-made rosemary syrup, and lemon verbena; Southern Belle, an elevated iced tea featuring Calvados, honey, and green apple; and the charming Star Crossed Lovers, a nod to local dessert traditions that combines vodka, red bean, and matcha soy foam.
Whether starting the night off or concluding it with style, The Green Room enchants visitors with an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and warmly inviting. The rich green walls and Pevla stone details evoke a whimsical Wes Anderson vibe, ideal for smooth transitions from aperitivo to afterparty. Every Thursday, Moonlight comes alive with DJ performances, renowned guest mixologists, and drag shows that playfully challenge norms. Upcoming partnerships feature Bar US (Asia’s 50 Best Bars – #21) on July 11 and Hope & Sesame (Asia’s 50 Best Bars – #14) on July 18.
