At times, it’s essential to slow down and find solace in the quietest corners, especially when the weight of stress burdens us. The Monastero Arx Vivendi in Italy offers a serene escape to relax and rejuvenate.
The Italian architecture studio, Network of Architecture (NOA), transformed this 17th-century monastery into a sanctuary for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Located on the northern edge of Lake Garda, it now stands as a 40-room hotel with modern spa facilities and beautifully curated gardens.
While the historical essence of the Monastero Arx Vivendi has been preserved, like the towering seven-meter walls encircling the property, the long corridors, and the magnificent vaulted ceilings, it has also been enhanced with contemporary amenities. These include a 500-square-meter wellness area featuring relaxation rooms, saunas, steam baths, a swimming pool, and verdant outdoor spaces.
The building is spread across three floors. The ground floor houses the bar, kitchen, breakfast room, reception, and communal spaces. The first floor accommodates the bedrooms and bathrooms, while the second floor features a spacious loft and additional guest rooms.
Architect Francesco Padovan describes the Monastero Arx Vivendi as a “refuge that transports you back in time,” emphasizing its deep connection to the monastery’s history and unique characteristics. It serves as a timeless sanctuary where guests can seek peace and tranquility.
