The 414-foot hybrid Giga yacht Octopus—previously owned by the late billionaire, Microsoft co-founder, adventurer, and philanthropist Paul Allen—is an iconic explorer yacht designed for those who want to reach the most remote and inaccessible areas of the world. Constructed by the German shipyard Lürssen in 2003, with an impressive range of 12,500 nautical miles, Octopus stands out as one of the most famous yachts ever built. The vessel has ventured to the shores of Antarctica, crossed the Northwest Passage, and uncovered a shipwreck in the Philippines.
Aside from its remarkable exploration capabilities and well-equipped dive center, Octopus boasts top-notch luxury features, such as a dedicated owner’s deck with a private bar, jacuzzi, outdoor dining area, and a private elevator; a spacious pool with an outdoor bar, dining spot, and a pizza oven; space for numerous water toys and tenders, a submarine, SUVs, and two helicopters; as well as a spa, library, bar, cinema, gym, multiple lounges including a forward-facing observation area, and an on-deck basketball court.
After undergoing a refit in 2019, Octopus is ready to elevate its new owner to the status of a legendary adventurer.
