We’re excited when our favorite cars undergo a special transformation, and recently, none have been more captivating than the retro-inspired Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC. This unique collaboration between Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore has just been unveiled in the ALD 911SC campaign. The Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911SC will be showcased at the ALD flagship store located at 214 Mulberry St. from May 21st-23rd.
This stunning vehicle is styled with a distinctly vintage aesthetic that enhances its appeal. This is the second collaboration between Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche, with their first project involving the restoration of a 911 Carrera 4 (Type 964). The previous collaboration featured Schott sunflower leather and Loro Piana houndstooth interiors, materials also used in Dore’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection, with the car’s exterior painted in the same white shade as their New York flagship store.
Capturing Vintage Style
The Porsche SC (Super Carrera), released in 1978, boasted a 3.0-liter engine, Bosch fuel-injection system, and a five-speed transmission, establishing itself as a top-tier supercar. The Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC featured in the brand’s social media channels and website showcases vintage-inspired additions like a roof rack, beaded seat covers, plush ivory leather, and a striking floral-patterned interior.
Similar to the previous collaboration, this project will not be available for sale but serves as a passion project for Santis and the Porsche design team, highlighting their exceptional taste and retro design expertise. Although the car won’t be for sale, there will be dual-branded merchandise available to mark the release.
If you appreciate unique automotive designs and have a soft spot for all things retro, the remarkable Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911 SC will surely catch your eye. While adding this beauty to your classic car collection may not be an option, the retro interiors and striking color scheme of this Porsche are truly impressive.
