If you dream of owning a car straight out of a Bond movie, then RM Sotheby’s has just the thing for you – a gorgeous 1965 Aston Martin DB5 up for auction in Monterrey. However, be ready to dig deep into your pockets as the estimated price is almost $2 million. This model is a factory left-hand-drive, late-production DB5 with a matching engine and comes with rare factory options.
This beautiful car has grabbed our attention at The Status Life, but unfortunately, we don’t have the funds to make it ours. We’re confident that a wealthy classic car collector will be eager to add this stunning machine to their collection. The engine of this DB5 was upgraded to Vantage specification in the 1990s by experts and has received a full cosmetic restoration to concours standards by Kevin Kay Restorations.
In 1965, Prince Abdul Ilah Bin Abdulaziz, the son of King Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia and a renowned car enthusiast who chaired The National Motor Company, ordered this fully equipped Aston Martin DB5 with the chassis number DB5/2270/L directly from Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. The car was delivered to a location behind the Royal Palace in Jeddah. DB5/2270/L is one of the last few DB5 models produced, delivered in 1966.
Any DB5 is a highly sought-after Aston Martin, offering an exhilarating driving experience and adding prestige to any sports and GT car collection. This specific DB5 with the chassis number DB5/2270/L from RM Sotheby’s was customized to meet the preferences of a discerning prince and comes with a well-documented history, making it one of the best DB5 models available and a must-have centerpiece for any collector.
