📍 Reims, France: Rare Champagne has introduced its inaugural Digital Passport-enhanced cuvée named ‘Extra-Ordinary Metamorphosis’. This initiative results from a partnership with visual artist William Amor, a self-trained innovator celebrated for his exquisite floral sculptures fashioned from repurposed materials. Amor is the recipient of the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris and has received honors from the Fondation Banque Populaire.
“This edition transcends the concept of a gift set; it embodies a celebration of evolution through the passage of time and nature. It represents the most ambitious project Rare Champagne has ever embarked upon,” remarked Maud Rabin, Director of Rare Champagne. “The Extra-Ordinary Metamorphosis is extraordinary, and we are excited to offer it to collectors.”
🍾 The Wine: This outstanding blended brut comprises 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir Dosage, yielding a delightful flavor profile with notes of cherry blossom, subtle orange blossom, jasmine, and a lychee finish.
🌸 Each bottle is adorned with a handcrafted “Rosa Peony,” inspired by Queen Marie-Antoinette’s beloved flower. This distinctive embellishment is created from repurposed plastics and comes with two vine leaves made from recycled aluminum capsules sourced from Rare Champagne.
💎 The crowning feature is a dazzling “crown jewel” ornament crafted from the Maison’s crystallized tartar deposits.
🔑 Digital Passport: This unique addition enhances the “Rosa Peony” flower, serving as a digital certificate of authenticity and a time capsule. After an eight-year maturation period, in 2032, each Digital Passport holder will receive a Methuselah of Rare Rosé selected by the Cellar Master. The number 8 symbolizes infinity, transformation, and the flow of time—concepts that resonate throughout this release, mirrored in the eight-year maturation and the 88 limited editions available.

🌿 Amor’s workshop-laboratory, Jardin extraordinaire, located in the Villa du Lavoir behind the Porte Saint Martin in Paris, is where he masterfully crafts delicate petals, vibrant coral reefs, and intricate botanical sculptures from industrial waste—such as plastic bags, bottles, fishing nets, and discarded cigarette butts.
