**In recent decades, films and television programs have emerged as some of the most widely embraced forms of entertainment globally. They transport audiences into diverse and exhilarating realms, providing a temporary reprieve from daily stressors. For this immersive experience to be effective, the groundwork behind visual media must stem from meticulously crafted artistry. A multitude of factors come into play in the production of a successful film, with cinematography being one of the most critical elements.**
Cinematography—the art of visual storytelling through camera work and photographic techniques—is essential in constructing a compelling narrative. Aspects such as lighting, the kind of cameras used, and lens selection significantly influence the work’s overall caliber. To achieve excellence, it is vital for producers to enlist highly trained and passionate professionals. One such fervent talent in today’s cinematography landscape is Lasha Nebieridze.
Originating from Georgia, Lasha has always had a deep-seated interest in storytelling and visual arts. This zeal guided his academic journey, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Technology from Georgian Technical University, along with two Associate of Applied Science degrees in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice from ASA College in New York. The latter qualifications empowered Lasha with the tools to create socially relevant videos that tackle urgent issues such as juvenile delinquency and incarceration prevention. Through his insights into the justice system, he crafts captivating narratives aimed at raising awareness, educating viewers, and fostering solutions for these societal dilemmas.
Lasha commenced his filming endeavor before completing his education, enrolling in a three-month cameraman course offered by the 1st National Channel in Georgia at the age of seventeen. Following this training, he secured a position as an assistant cameraman for a Sunday program titled Kamerton. His capabilities quickly evolved, leading to a promotion as a cameraman for educational science television programs, further honing his expertise.
His talent did not go unnoticed, and the Border Protection Department brought him on board as a cameraman for its press department. His work was featured on all major channels in Georgia, catching the eye of international firms. After refining his skills back home, Lasha’s career took a global turn in 2003 when he moved to Cyprus to contribute to Paphos TV, significantly advancing his cinematography techniques. In Cyprus, he accumulated substantial experience by engaging in various television projects, playing a pivotal role in Paphos TV’s success.
During his tenure at Paphos TV, Lasha was involved in a wide array of shows, including news segments, live broadcasts, sporting events, documentaries, and entertainment programs. Shortly after he joined the station, he proposed a weekly entertainment show which went on to become quite popular. Alongside this role, he also served as a cameraman and editor for another prominent Cypriot station, Antenna TV Channel. Later, Lasha received an official press card from the Cyprus government’s Press and Information Office (PIO), further establishing his credibility in the media sphere.
After relocating to the United States, Lasha established his own company, Mitl Studio Films, where he currently serves as CEO and Director of Photography. In 2022, he began collaborating with NewGround Entertainment, a renowned company, in the capacity of lead videographer, capturing important cultural events for prestigious organizations such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, NY Fest for Capelli Sport, and Central Park NYC.
Throughout his career, Lasha has reached notable milestones that have contributed to his success. He directed the cinematography for several acclaimed music videos, including one for Elvana Gjata that amassed thirty-two million views. Additionally, he worked on videos for Mira Konci and Faton Macula, showcasing his ability to execute intricate camera operations and convey engaging visual narratives. The skills Lasha developed over the years culminated in his most significant work, *Mikpritja (The Hospitality)*, which garnered recognition and awards from the National Board of Review, solidifying his status as a prominent cinematographer.
With over fifteen years of industry experience, Lasha aims to expand Mitl Studio by mastering new cinematographic techniques and adopting the latest technologies in his projects. He is particularly focused on creating films that address societal issues such as youth delinquency, intending to educate, inspire, and empower his audiences through his art.
Lasha Nebieridze not only possesses a remarkable talent but also exudes a genuine passion for his craft. He takes great pride in utilizing his cinematographic skills to produce high-quality films, with his enthusiasm evident in every project he undertakes.
