Tucked away in a private location amidst scenic winding roads in the heart of lush valleys, Royal Mougins Golf Resort is a luxurious 4-star retreat on the French Riviera, just a half-hour drive from Antibes on the stunning Côte d’Azur.
Nestled in a picturesque setting, the resort offers a range of suites designed as apartments on different levels including the first, second, and third floors, many offering breathtaking views of the 18-hole golf course and the picturesque countryside around.
Upon passing through electronically operated steel gates and a short drive up a gentle slope, guests reach the clubhouse, with a spacious car park in the front and an entrance hall graced by four sturdy pillars.
Inside, the clubhouse features multiple rooms with various seating options including sofas, armchairs, and wicker chairs. One cozy area even boasts an open fire, long wooden coffee tables, bookshelves, an array of crystal and silver decorations, and a collection of black and white framed photographs capturing golfers in action. Visitors can watch live golf tournaments on a large flatscreen TV. Meals are served at the ‘Le Royal Garden’ restaurant near the final green. Guests can savor breakfast on an outdoor patio, ‘La Terrasse du 18,’ with sweeping views of the scenic rolling hills.
During our stay, we enjoyed the spacious Prestige Suite 402, just a short walk from the clubhouse. This accommodation comprises five separate rooms – a living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom with a separate shower and bath, and a bedroom – all furnished with polished wood and carpet flooring. The well-equipped kitchen includes essential appliances such as a coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge.
Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the rooms with natural light, while a beige sofa, armchair, matching curtains, coffee table, flatscreen TV, and a small dining table create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The suite boasts unique decorative elements including four starched shirt collars in a glass case, a green marble disc resembling a giant polo peppermint, five golf balls in a gold fishbowl, and a silver sculpture resembling multiple pointing fingers. The walls are adorned with black and white framed golf-themed photographs.
The suite also offers a spacious stone-tiled terrace where one can host dinners or gatherings for up to twenty guests. Two cozy lounge chairs, a table with four chairs, and tall cacti plants contribute to a relaxing ambiance under the sun and clear blue skies, with palm trees swaying gently in the breeze. Positioned on the second floor, the terrace offers stunning views of the golf course, landscaped gardens by Jean Mus, and the forested ridges and villages perched on the surrounding slopes. A charming pigeon house and a babbling stream add to the picturesque setting.
