There’s barbecue, and then there’s Pig Beach Palm Beach.
For those who haven’t had the pleasure of tasting the offerings at this popular spot in West Palm Beach, get ready for a culinary delight.
The former CrossFit gym has been transformed into the newest location of a New York concept, thanks to business partners Rob Shawger, Shane McBride, and Matt Abdoo, an eight-year Del Posto veteran.
Pig Beach stands out because it offers more than just your typical barbecue fare. While you can enjoy classics like tangy pulled pork and creamy mac and cheese, the real star dishes are the award-winning specialties.
Chef Jeff’s brisket comes with a world champion barbecue sauce, the baby back ribs are glazed with a peach and honey mix, and the giant beef ribs have a top-secret seasoning.
The vibrant industrial interior features an open kitchen, garage doors that create an outdoor dining experience, whimsical pig lights on the walls, and big-screen TVs for sports enthusiasts.
Rolls of paper towels on each table set the casual tone for a hands-on dining experience. Pig Beach also offers a range of local beers and craft cocktails. Start off with a Mermaid Juice or Beach Access Lager from Civil Society Brewing, and pair it with their famed smoked chicken wings, available in BBQ buffalo sauce or a dry rub with signature seasoning.
The menu also includes grilled options like burgers with a secret sauce, all-beef hot dogs with creative toppings, and an Impossible Burger for vegetarians. Unique items such as The Rieder, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with bacon, and a BBQ jackfruit sandwich add flair to the menu.
For those undecided on what to order, the Sampler Platter provides a taste of everything, including baby back ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey, and a jalapeno sausage link. Homemade sauces like Championship Mustard and Rob’s Righteous Red are perfect for customizing.
A diverse selection of sides like house pickles, collard greens, and pitmaster potato salad complements the main dishes. And if you can’t get enough of Pig Beach’s barbecue, their online store offers signature sauces, seasonings, and cookbooks for delivery to your home.
You can find Pig Beach BBQ at 2400 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.
