New Rolex GMT-Master II In Yellow Gold and Yellow Rolesor

It’s time for the annual Rolex Watches & Wonders 2023 event in Geneva, Switzerland from March 27 – April 2. With nearly 50 watch brands presenting their novelties, Rolex always steals the spotlight. Let’s explore some of the exciting new releases from Rolex at Watches & Wonders 2023.

After a hiatus, Rolex reintroduces yellow gold to the GMT-Master II collection with two new models: the full yellow gold GMT-Master II ref. 126718GRNR and the steel and yellow gold GMT-Master II ref. 126713GRNR.

These latest GMT-Master II watches flaunt unique gray and black Cerachrom bezels on 40mm cases, featuring 24-hour numerals in yellow gold. Although currently only available with a Jubilee bracelet, an Oyster bracelet option may be in the works.

Like other Rolex sports models, these golden GMT-Master II variants offer a blend of classic Rolex GMT design, precious metals, and a new bezel colorway, making them highly sought-after by Rolex enthusiasts.

We caught up with Paul Altieri, Founder and CEO of Bob’s Watches, to gather his insights on these remarkable new Rolex models.

New Generation Rolex Daytona

Rolex commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Daytona watch by launching a fresh generation of models with updated cases, dials, and a new movement carrying 126xxx reference numbers.

The Watches and Wonders 2023 Rolex Daytona watches maintain their 40mm case sizes but boast slightly wider lugs and new light reflections on the lugs and case sides. Cerachrom bezels now come with rings matching the case metal.

The new Rolex Daytona features a redesigned case and the new Caliber 4131 movement, offering subtle updates on the dial and a steel-rimmed bezel. The popular 116500LN Cosmograph Daytona was retired, replaced by the new reference number 126500.

New Titanium Rolex Yacht-Master 42

The much-awaited 2023 Rolex release is the Yacht-Master 42 watch in RLX titanium, the latest material in Rolex’s lineup. The 42mm titanium case of the Yacht-Master 226627 showcases a bidirectional matt black Ceramic bezel with raised numerals and markings.

The black dial features Mercedes-style hands with lume-filled plots around the periphery, and the date window at 3 o’clock is magnified by the Cyclops lens on the sapphire crystal.

The Rolex Yacht Master 42m stands out as a showstopper according to Altieri.
