Mercedes-Benz celebrated AMG’s 55th anniversary with the announcement of two special edition models. One focused on track performance, while the other enhanced the aesthetics of their SUV.
Building on these releases, more details have emerged about the Vision EQXX concept, with its standout features supposedly transitioning to production.
The sustainable saloon aims to excel in range, positioning Mercedes-Benz to compete primarily with itself. While most current EVs offer mileages around 300 miles, exceptions like the Lucid Air and the 2022 EQS exist.
The Vision EQXX is projected to deliver an impressive real-world range of 620 miles, surpassing the EQS by 167 miles if it achieves this goal.
Mercedes-Benz has a functional prototype in place, with Chief Designer Gordon Wagner suggesting it will be an all-electric version of the C-Class.
Key features contributing to its performance are the new motor and a custom lithium-ion battery sourced from the Chinese company CATL. Although its capacity is slightly under 100 kWh, the battery is more compact and lighter than those found in other Mercedes-Benz EVs.
In addition to its range, the Vision EQXX boasts an engaging interior, including an expansive MBUX infotainment system covering the entire dashboard. It remains to be seen if Mercedes-Benz will introduce further modifications before finalizing the production model’s specifications and design.
