The Cambria Portland Downtown – Old Port hotel has been creating a buzz ever since it opened in the historic Old Port area of Portland. This area has a rich history of foundries and shipbuilding.

This six-story boutique hotel opened last fall and offers 102 rooms of varying sizes, from standard rooms to luxurious suites. They even have pet-friendly rooms, so if you’re bringing your furry friend, make sure to let them know beforehand.

Situated next to Shipyard Brewing Company in the Old Port section of downtown Portland, this bustling hotel provides guests with modern amenities. Guests are greeted by friendly valet attendants who direct them to the elevator on the fourth floor for check-in.

During check-in, the front desk staff will ask if you’d like to receive room service during your stay, and this preference will be noted in your profile.

There is a small area next to the reception desk where you can purchase essential snacks and drinks.

In the afternoons, complimentary cookies are available for guests in the lobby.

The hotel offers free wifi for all guests, and the tech-friendly rooms are equipped with Bluetooth mirrors in the spa-inspired bathrooms.

Our spacious pet-friendly room featured a king-sized bed, a large desk, and a coffee station. There was also a comfortable lounger near the window for relaxation.

A stunning mural on the wall behind the bed pays tribute to the history of shipbuilding in the area.

ALTO Terrace Bar + Kitchen, the hotel’s in-house restaurant, serves breakfast and dinner daily.

On the fourth floor, you’ll find this industrial-chic space with a massive sliding barn door that leads to a smaller room available for private events.

Make sure to try the local Maine mussels, which are served in a delicious tomato, chorizo, shallot, wine, and garlic broth. For the main course options, the pan-seared scallops on creamy risotto with asparagus tips, blistered tomatoes, and shaved parmesan are a hearty delight. The grilled swordfish steak is simply prepared with lobster and herb compound butter, accompanied by rice pilaf and haricot verts.

Portland is a pedestrian-friendly city that can easily be explored on foot. Start or end your visit with a stop at Shipyard Brewing Company, located next to the hotel. They offer a variety of brews, from classic American Pale Ale to seasonal favorites like Summer and Pumpkinhead Ales.

The Cambria Portland Downtown – Old Port can be found at 25 Hancock Street in Portland, Maine.
