We love Land Rover Defenders here at The Status Life. Particularly ones from the 90s. And especially ones that have been restored as impeccably as this 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 Soft Top from the guys at Legacy Overland. If you want a high quality build, Legacy Overland should certainly be one of your first ports of call and this exemplary machine is a first class example of exactly why that is the case. This comprehensively restored Land Rover Defender 90 was reimagined for a new lease on a great life and it will blow you away with its visual impact.
The Legacy Overland 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 Soft Top consists of an abundance of meticulous work that has spanned thousands of hours. The top notch restoration workshop broke the car into its smallest parts before carefully building it back up, piece by piece. The turbo diesel engine and gearboxes are fully rebuilt and deliver a highly reliable and powerful performance that you’d expect from a Defender. The car embodies the iconic, no-nonsense Land Rover qualities and transforms in an upgraded package for today’s motorist.
STUNNING RESTORATION
The Defender 90 Soft Top from the team at Legacy Overland is finished in a satin Pangea green with black details and, as the name suggest, a soft top. The front of the Defender has been extensively upgraded with a KBX grille and LED high-power headlights. The hood got a spruce-up as well with a satin black reflection abating cover with a “90” stencil as a nod to its heritage and iconic design aesthetic. This majestic looking machine from Legacy Overland rides on capable alloy wheels with gnarly Cooper tires that will make short work of pretty much any terrains.
As we’ve come to expect from Legacy Overland now, they put just as much care and attention into the interiors of their builds as the exteriors and this 1990 Land Rover Defender Soft Top is certainly no exception. The front seats have been upgraded to Porsche 911-type bucket seats with high head rests and ample support for energetic off-roading in comfort and style. The interior is dressed in hand crafted tawny vegan leather with black chevron stitched patterning on seats, doors and cubby box. The shifters are crafted from billet aluminium, which delivers a sharp finishing touch as well as rugged robustness.
The Defender 90 boasts an upgraded sound system with 800-watt subwoofer and four speakers, which is all powered by an amplifier to keep the party going long after the sun has gone down. But do not despair of the dark as besides an all-LED exterior lamp configuration, a classic map-light mounted on aa telescopic arm comes attached to the dashboard. The black canvas top can be rolled up to provide an open-air feeling, but a custom-built air-conditioning unit will keep things cool when required. Another awesome build from Legacy Overland.
