Spring has officially set in over San Francisco, showcasing nature’s beauty at its peak at The Westin St. Francis. Located right on Union Square, this historic hotel has been a symbol of timeless charm since 1904, blending classic architecture with contemporary comforts. This spring, it shines brighter than ever.

As part of Union Square in Bloom, a celebration organized by the Union Square Alliance, this landmark has been transformed into a stunning floral wonderland. Attendees can indulge in a captivating array of immersive experiences that capture the essence of spring. In the Tower Lobby, florist Edgar Martinez of Flowers by Edgar has created a lush display featuring silk cherry blossoms, providing a whimsical greeting for both hotel guests and visitors. 🌸

For those wishing to delve deeper into the seasonal allure, the hotel’s “Suite in Bloom” offers a fairytale-like escape. Within the Landmark Building, Martinez has curated a private floral sanctuary where thousands of silk flowers drape from the ceilings and have been artistically placed throughout. With delicate pink cherry blossom trees, elegant chandeliers, and comfortable garden seating, it truly feels like a storybook setting. Accommodating up to four guests, the suite offers a king bed and a separate parlor with a queen bed, along with an option for an additional connecting room. Rates start at $849 through July 31, which includes a bottle of sparkling rosé along with floral macarons for the ultimate celebration. 🍾✨

If a suite seems too lavish, consider the “Room in Bloom” package, which provides a subtler yet delightful seasonal touch. This guest room features fresh flowers and the soft scent of a spring garden, greeting guests with a beautifully arranged bouquet. Rates begin at $259. 🌷

The seasonal festivities also reach the lobby’s Café Rito, where a special menu celebrates floral-inspired flavors. Guests can relish a lavender vanilla latte and treat themselves to seasonal pastries like rose water raspberry macarons and decadent chocolate tarts—ideal for enjoying after exploring the blossoming streets of Union Square. ☕️🍰

Stepping outside, The Westin St. Francis provides guests with easy access to the broader Union Square in Bloom festivities. Storefronts are adorned with elaborate floral displays, colorful public art enlivens the streets, and the vibrant spirit of a city bursting with renewal is palpable. As San Francisco shakes off the winter chill, The Westin St. Francis offers a prime vantage point to relish every beautiful moment right at the center of it all.

Now in its third year, Union Square in Bloom seeks to rejuvenate the vibrancy and beauty of downtown San Francisco. Created to reimagine the city’s beloved gathering spot in the aftermath of the pandemic, this initiative has turned Union Square into a canvas of lively floral patterns, whimsical art installations, and festive experiences. It encourages all to stroll, savor, and celebrate under a magnificent bloom canopy. 🌻
