Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled a new addition to its Polaris series with a perpetual calendar, bringing a traditional calendar complication to this sophisticated sporty collection. This launch is part of a diverse range of debuts at Watches and Wonders 2022, all inspired by the brand’s “Stellar Odyssey” theme for the year.

Among the new releases are two new Atmos models, two remarkable grand complications, and two stunning additions to the Rendez-Vous collection.

In 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre reintroduced the Polaris name, honoring the iconic Memovox Polaris dive series from 1968.

The Polaris Perpetual Calendar introduces Caliber 868AA, an enhanced version of its perpetual calendar movement first introduced in 2013. This upgrade incorporates a retrograde display of moon phases for the Southern Hemisphere and extends the power reserve to seventy hours. A longer power reserve enhances the practicality of any calendar watch.

The 42mm steel or pink gold Polaris Perpetual Calendar features a dial in a rich gradient blue shade, symbolizing the transition from day to night.

To reflect the astronomical roots of calendars, Jaeger-LeCoultre positions the moon phases at 6 o’clock, with a retrograde display for the Southern Hemisphere complementing its Northern counterpart. The new skeleton hands improve visibility of the dial displays while maintaining the distinctive Polaris design elements.

All essential Polaris features are present, including a glass-box crystal, a blend of brushed and polished surfaces, and a rotating top crown for the inner bezel. The lower crown is used for time adjustment and winding, with calendar settings adjusted via a single pusher.

Prices: $29,600 (steel) and $44,300 (pink gold).
