The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, San Diego are showcasing a stunning array of vibrant ranunculus flowers this year, thanks to an abundance of rain that has led to stronger stems and more vivid colors. According to Fred Clarke, the General Manager of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, visitors can enjoy a “rainbow of ranunculus” this season.
This year’s theme at The Flower Fields is “Live Colorfully,” and the return of Art Alive is being marked with a mural painted by San Diego artist Thao Huynh French. The mural, located in the Butterfly Garden area, serves as a tranquil space for contemplation amidst the bustle of the surroundings. French explained that in a world filled with noise and busyness, this artwork offers a peaceful sanctuary for the mind and spirit.
Visitors to The Flower Fields can take part in various engaging events and activities that align with this year’s theme. These include wine tasting, workshops on floral design, and yoga sessions centered around plants and flowers.
The Art Alive 2023 event, which supports The San Diego Museum of Art’s exhibitions, education, and outreach efforts, will run from March 30 to April 2.
