Bulgari is known for its modern aesthetic showcased in the Octo Finissimo series. The brand continues this trend with the unveiling of the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon, a cutting-edge addition to its Haute Horlogerie collection.
This new timepiece is an extension of Bulgari’s expertise in chiming watches, a skill set acquired through the acquisition of Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth, two renowned watchmakers. The brand’s dedication to intricate watchmaking has solidified its position in the world of Haute horology.
Key Features
The Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon boasts a three-hammer chime and a tourbillon regulator housed in a 44mm black DLC-coated titanium case. Unlike its predecessor, the Octo Roma Grande Sonnerie, this model features a unique dial design with an open black titanium grid that exposes the tourbillon and chimes in action.
Bulgari has incorporated three openings in the titanium case to enhance sound transmission. The gongs are directly attached to the case for optimal sound quality. The innovative case design allows for clear diffusion of sound, ensuring a captivating auditory experience.
The watch is powered by the Caliber BVL428, a manual winding movement with 432 components. The gongs are meticulously crafted and hardened to produce a vibrant sound. The chime sequence includes notes for hours, quarters, and minutes, creating a harmonious melody.
Sound Experience
Although the digital rendition of the Bulgari Octo Roma Carillon is captivating, the live performance is expected to be exceptional. The watch features a classical barrel for a minimum 75-hour power reserve and a spring mechanism integrated into the bridge to ensure the sound mechanism functions smoothly.
The Octo Roma Carillon comes with a black alligator leather strap and a DLC Titanium folding clasp. It will be available as a limited edition of fifteen pieces, each uniquely engraved on the crown. Price: $259,000.
