Marking the ten-year milestone of the Bulgari Octo Finissimo, the original designer and the esteemed Phillips auction house have partnered to unveil the Octo Finissimo Special Edition Phillips in Association with Bacs and Russo. This limited edition model reflects the collection’s monochromatic dial, slim octagonal case, and balanced design elements.
Bulgari’s designs often draw inspiration from Roman architecture, and the new special edition continues this theme by incorporating a Roman-inspired sense of geometric symmetry. The sand-blasted titanium dial features symmetrically placed engraved markers encircling its center, with only the 12 and 6 markers deviating from the pattern. In a departure from the historical Octo Finissimo design, this new watch omits the seconds subdial, emphasizing the complete circular dial within the eight-sided case.
Aurel Bacs, Senior Consultant at Bacs & Russo, explains, “With this sectored dial design, our aim was to create symmetry as a tribute to Bulgari’s Italian heritage and the notable Italian architects and designers of the 20th century.”
The sleek 40mm case and bracelet are meticulously finished in sand-blasted titanium to match the dial’s aesthetic.
Powering the watch is Bulgari’s BVL 138 movement, featuring a platinum micro-rotor visible through the case back, providing an impressive 60-hour power reserve. Limited to just fifty pieces, the watch will be available through Phillips Watches.
