Renowned motorcycle customizer Roland Sands has collaborated once more with BMW Motorrad to unveil a new bespoke R18 Dragster, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece centered around the powerful 2-cylinder Big Boxer engine.
Featuring a striking two-tone metallic blue and white paint scheme, the final creation is truly stunning. Sands and his team meticulously disassembled the R 18 and redefined its form, restructuring the frame and eliminating the rear suspension to optimize it for drag racing.
“My father raced dragsters,” shares Roland Sands. Growing up around unique bikes and later participating in races himself for a decade, he was inspired to strip the bike down to its essentials, shaping it for speed on straight stretches.
The unique features of this blue marvel include carbon cylinder head covers, an original R 18 headlight with a milled aluminum bezel from the RSD Design Collection, hydraulic master cylinders for the front brake and clutch, and custom-machined RSD rims fitted with Dunlop drag tires.
The seat, a custom creation by Saddlemen, was crafted from scratch, and the standard exhaust has been replaced with a handmade version.
