Bentley introduced the Flying Spur Hybrid to the market towards the end of 2021 with a starting price of $210,000. The vehicle comes equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 engine. The Flying Spur Hybrid Jetstream II, also starting at $210,000, features a stunning jet blue exterior paint paired with an Imperial Blue leather monochrome interior. This car is powered by a 2.9-liter V6 engine and offers various premium options, including the Naim for Bentley premium audio system ($8,970).
A unique collaboration between Bentley and Hollywood music producer Steve Mazzaro resulted in a bespoke soundtrack for the vehicle, named the ‘Extraordinary Journey.’ This nearly 10-minute musical piece is designed to embody the essence of the Bentley brand—inspiring, harmonious, and powerful. Created to showcase the exceptional capabilities of the Naim in-car audio system exclusive to Bentley, the composition was tailored to match the performance of the 2,200-watt, 21-channel Naim system.
Steve Mazzaro, in partnership with a team of world-class musicians who worked remotely, crafted this special composition. Leveraging the 19 speakers positioned throughout the cabin and two kinesthetic shakers in the front seats, Mazzaro aimed to create an extraordinary auditory experience.
“For this piece, I wanted to take the listener on a journey…so there’s flow to this piece. Starting a specific way and then leading the person somewhere,” Mazzaro commented. “To me, Bentley represents elegance and class but also power, speed, and mechanical complexity. So for this piece I used guitars, plus powerful, heavy synths and technical drums combined with intricate hand percussion…I wanted to push the power of the Naim audio system and see what it was capable of. So this also became more of a technical endeavor.”
Divided into three chapters, the piece progresses through different styles, commencing with a vibrant and energetic introduction, transitioning to an orchestral middle segment, and concluding with a dynamic electronica-driven symphony. Mazzaro collaborated with top instrumentalists such as violinist Molly Rogers, drummer Satanam Ramgotra, guitarist Guthrie Govan, flamenco guitarist Amir John Haddad, percussionist Holly Madge, bassist Juan Garcia-Herreros, and cellist Tina Guo—maintaining a longstanding relationship with Bentley since the introduction of their initial hybrid model in 2018.
The innovative sound system within the Flying Spur served as an ideal platform for Mazzaro to showcase the extraordinary capabilities of the company’s highly advanced audio system. Naim and Bentley continue to push boundaries with this system, offering the most potent in-car original equipment manufacturer (OEM) system available in the market. Alain Favey, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales, expressed, “The Bentley x Naim sound system is specified on almost 40% of customer orders [and] it’s been a great pleasure to work with Steve Mazzaro to craft a piece of music to truly demonstrate the prowess of the [Naim-equipped Bentley] system.”
