For enthusiasts seeking adventure without compromising on sophistication, the name Arkonik carries significant weight. These craftsmen specialize in reimagining classic Land Rover Defenders, turning them into customized vehicles, each a distinct embodiment of rugged strength and luxurious refinement. Their latest offering is the impressive Jackal D110, a reimagined 1997 model prepared to tackle any landscape, priced at the considerable sum of £150,000. This goes beyond mere restoration; it is a redefinition of a classic.

The Jackal D110 is grounded in the heritage of the iconic 1997 Land Rover Defender 110, a vehicle celebrated for its all-terrain prowess. However, Arkonik’s approach is not limited to refurbishment; they execute a comprehensive, frame-off restoration, meticulously enhancing every component to its peak performance, often elevating it further. Externally, the Jackal D110 features a sophisticated Slate Grey finish, a subdued paint job that radiates quiet assurance. This commanding look is complemented by a robust stance created by 16″ steel wheels fitted with beadlocks, shod in imposing BFGoodrich® Mud Terrain T/A KM3 tyres—this vehicle is designed to perform, on and off the road.

The front design of the Jackal D110 showcases rugged aesthetics beautifully. The KBX® Signature grille, integrated with light surrounds, sets an assertive tone, while the standard bumper with end caps and dual DRLs adds a functional yet modern touch. An Arkonik A-bar, featuring powerful LED spotlights, is prepared to light up even the darkest paths, and a Raptor Black steering guard safeguards vital components against the wear and tear of off-roading. KBX® Hi-Force wing-top air intakes and KBX® Sport side air intakes not only enhance the vehicle’s looks but also help optimize engine performance. Satin Black chequer plate protects the wing-tops and side sills, contributing to its rugged persona, while Fire & Ice side steps with a Raptor finish offer a secure and stylish entry point.

Functionality is also a priority here. Equipped with a Front Runner® Slimline II roof rack and rear ladder, there’s ample room for all your adventurous gear. The OEM bonnet and rear badges preserve the Defender’s iconic status, complemented by a NAS rear step for easy rear access. Additionally, the windows feature an upgrade with a Light Smoke (35%) tint, enhancing both privacy and a sleek appeal.

Upon entering the Jackal D110, one encounters a blend of ruggedness and luxury. The interior is draped in sumptuous Black Nappa leather, providing a comfortable and tactile environment for all nine passengers. The front seats, heated and styled like Puma models, ensure maximum comfort during even the chilliest outings. A lock box with a USB port is ingeniously fitted into the front storage area, offering both secure storage and convenient device charging. The centre row boasts three premium high-back seats, while the load area is outfitted with inward-facing tip-up seats, enhancing passenger capacity without sacrificing room. The driver commands an Arkon X Black leather 15″ steering wheel, paired with black anodized gear knobs and a matching leather gear gaiter and door cards. Durable black carpet flooring and rubber mats provide an easy-to-clean surface.

Even with its classic roots, the Jackal D110 comes with up-to-date conveniences. A Kenwood® touchscreen display, along with Focal® speakers and a subwoofer, offers a premium audio experience. New air conditioning ensures a pleasant cabin climate, while Ice White LED interior lighting adds a beautiful ambiance. Beneath its stylish and rugged exterior, the Jackal D110 has undergone a complete overhaul. The fully reconditioned and rebuilt 300 Tdi diesel engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, promises reliable performance. The chassis is etched, primed, and Raptor-coated for maximum durability, and a new wiring loom and switchgear provide modern electrical reliability.

The brakes and suspension have been wholly replaced with new parts, and the steering system has been upgraded with a new rack and power steering. Even the fuel system and instrument cluster have been refreshed with new components. The Arkonik Jackal D110 transcends being a mere classic Defender; it stands as a handcrafted masterpiece, designed for those who seek the pinnacle of rugged luxury and unmatched capability.
