In an exciting new art programming initiative, the Dorchester Collection’s Los Angeles properties, which include The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air, will launch a series of art exhibitions scheduled for throughout 2025. This initiative has been crafted in partnership with the hotels’ new art curator, Lily Ackerman, founder of Ackerman Studios in London, and in collaboration with CURA Art. The exhibitions are designed to celebrate creativity and visual storytelling, positioning the artist as the focal point of each narrative.

Lily Ackerman has been working closely with CURA Art’s collection management experts, Liza Shapiro and Georgia Powell, to curate a unique exhibition schedule for both The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air, showcasing the vibrant artistic community within Los Angeles. This collaboration further deepens the bond between Dorchester Collection and Ackerman, who has been responsible for curating exhibitions at their London venue, 45 Park Lane, since 2017.

The inaugural exhibition at The Beverly Hills Hotel, titled “Spotlight LA,” is set to run from February 21 to June 22, 2025. It pays homage to the hotel’s heritage and its longstanding ties to Los Angeles. The first show, “Where Memory Forgets,” features works by local artist Virginia Broersma, who explores the theme of leisure in Southern California. Future exhibitions will highlight the work of renowned rock-and-roll photographer Guy Webster, with a third exhibition to be announced as the date approaches.

At Hotel Bel-Air, the exhibition “Spatial Elegance – Timeless Horizons” will showcase sculptures placed in the serene environment of the hotel’s lush gardens and grounds. These presentations seek to provide an immersive and contemplative experience, inspired by the play of light and the California skies. Throughout the year, artworks by artists such as Shana Mabari, Michael Wilding, and Jill Berelowitz will be presented, each delving into various themes and artistic materials.

Ackerman notes that the goal of these exhibitions is to enchant and enrich the guest experience, maintaining the unique essence of each hotel while also connecting them to the city’s dynamic cultural landscape. The vision is to honor the classic design legacy at Hotel Bel-Air through exquisite sculptural displays that reflect the hotel’s enduring elegance and sophisticated modernity.
