Chiharu Shiota, who is a Japanese artist, has created a unique artwork called “Universe of Mouton” for the label of Château Mouton Rothschild 2021. The drawing features a delicate human figure standing in front of a lush and abundant natural setting. This juxtaposition symbolizes the harmony between humans and nature, with the small figure representing the balance.
The artwork is framed by four threads representing the four seasons, reflecting the conditions in which the grapes grow and the experience of the drinker. Shiota draws inspiration from her personal experiences and emotions, which she translates into universal human themes such as life, death, and relationships. Her work often involves using everyday objects and large thread structures to explore intangible emotions through installations, sculptures, drawings, and other pieces.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA, in collaboration with Christie’s and with the participation of Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, will host an online auction of an exclusive package to reveal the label for Château Mouton Rothschild 2021. The proceeds will support the Association Antoine Alléno, a charity established by Yannick Alléno to assist the families of young people who have been victims of violence.
The package includes various formats of Château Mouton Rothschild 2021, an invitation to the reveal of the label for Château Mouton Rothschild 2022, a private tour of the estate, a wine tasting, and a unique dining experience at Le Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris with Yannick Alléno and a member of the Rothschild family. The auction will close on 8 December at 5.00 pm (GMT +1).
