The latest 2021 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series, the fifth in the LC lineup, elevates the 471-horsepower V8 grand-touring coupe with an aviation-themed design. This model will be available in dealerships later this winter.
- Lexus has not revealed the pricing for the new LC 500 Inspiration Series, which will be limited to just 100 units. It is anticipated to be in a similar price range to the 2020 Inspiration Series, which was priced at $104,105 (approximately $10,000 higher than the base LC 500).
- This year’s Inspiration Series boasts upgrades such as a carbon-fiber rear spoiler inspired by air racing, a carbon-fiber roof, 21-inch black forged wheels, improved performance with a limited-slip differential, rear performance rod with damper, and black Alcantara-trimmed sport seats with Saddle Tan accents and seat belts.
- The design of the new LC 500 Inspiration Series draws inspiration from a collaboration between air race pilot Yoshihide Muroya (the winner of the 2017 Red Bull Air Race World Championships) and Lexus engineers, some of whom worked on the Lexus LFA supercar.
- This joint effort led to aerodynamic enhancements inspired by aviation, including a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) spoiler modeled after an inverted aircraft wing, designed to improve maneuverability and efficiency with vortices at the wingtips.
- The 2021 LC 500 Inspiration Series is available in the exterior color dark Obsidian.
