This extraordinary-looking 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Z06 Coupe has been beautifully restored to its factory-correct colours of Daytona Blue over a Saddle interior; and rides on rare Kelsey Hayes “two-bar” knock-off wheels so there is a real air of authenticity to proceedings with this one from RM Sotheby’s. It retains the numbers-matching V-8 engine; with a fuel injection system that was rebuilt in 2019 by specialist Jack Podell so you know it’s been carried out to exacting standards.

Incredibly striking, this sensational steed was purchased for competition and never road-registered in-period; and possesses a known history from new so you’ll be able to chart everything that has transpired with this vehicle since it rolled off the production line in the early 60s. In June 2018, its numbers-matching engine was rebuilt by Performance Specialties, Inc. of Birmingham, Alabama, and it is said to have been driven a mere twenty miles following break-in on a dynamometer. In 2019 its Rochester fuel-injection system was completely overhauled by specialist Jack Podell of South Bend, Indiana. Invoices for both jobs accompany the sale, as do photos of its earlier restoration.
With single-year “split-window” styling there is a mighty compelling aesthetic to this Corvette along with its racing provenance and a known history from new.
