You’ll know you’re in Palm Beach when you see unique cocktails like the Spicy Socialite, pasta by Dolce & Gabbana, and designer meatloaf wrapped in bacon on the menu of one of the chicest restaurants in town.
Originally a popular spot in New York City, Swifty’s has now made its way to Florida, making a move that was planned back in 2019 when it first opened at the upscale Colony Hotel.
Swifty’s had been an iconic fixture in New York’s Upper East Side, drawing in a long list of A-list celebrities from Frank Sinatra to John Lennon who remained loyal patrons over the years. When the New York location unexpectedly closed its doors in 2016, fans of the exclusive establishment known for its exclusive club atmosphere had to wait three years before it resurfaced in Florida.
Since its arrival in Florida, the beloved concept created by founder Robert Caravaggi has been warmly welcomed as a delightful addition to the island. The reimagined venue now stands prominently by the poolside at the luxurious “Pink Paradise” hotel, just a stone’s throw away from the upscale Worth Avenue.
Recently, the boutique hotel with 89 rooms underwent a complete redesign to mark its 75th anniversary. A standout feature of the renovation is the stunning custom de Gournay murals located near the elevators on every floor.
The hotel has also announced several collaborations in art, wellness, fashion, and design to commemorate its anniversary. Until March, shoppers can explore Dolce & Gabbana’s inaugural Palm Beach retail space located within the hotel, The Colony Edit. The boutique offers women’s collections from the new Resort and Spring lines, along with luxury menswear, jewelry, children’s clothing, and home decor.
Close by, Swifty’s also pays tribute to the Italian designer with a pasta dish named after the luxury fashion brand. With elegant indoor and stylish outdoor dining choices, some of the best tables can be found by the poolside under the charming hanging garden.
Fans of the restaurant will be pleased to find familiar favorites like the Billionaire’s Bacon and Meatloaf, and Murray’s New York Chicken Paillard still on the menu. An array of “Table Snacks” is available, ranging from fresh local vegetable crudité with white bean hummus and parmesan cheese scones with strawberry and truffle preserve to the signature cheese and charcuterie board for two and crushed avocado with fresh salsa and tortilla chips.
The raw bar selection includes fresh Florida stone crab claws, East Coast oysters, and smoked salmon. For a luxurious treat, guests can enjoy Polish Siberian, Amber Osetra, and American Beluga caviar served with traditional garnishes.
To start, we ordered the colossal poached shrimp (and they were truly colossal) accompanied by a side of zesty cocktail sauce and fresh lemon.
Our server, Patty, suggested we try one of their popular appetizers – chickpea, jalapeno, and cilantro fritters – and we were not disappointed. Six crispy fritters were served on a bed of tahini dressing topped with a flavorful carrot apricot puree and sesame seeds.
A standout among the main dishes was the eight-ounce Creekstone filet mignon. Enhance your meal with one of their signature sides like crispy Brussels sprouts, haricots verts almondine, creamed spinach, ratatouille, or grilled asparagus.
Another must-try dish was the creamy Dolce & Gabbana “designer pasta” tossed with leeks, tomatoes, mushrooms, and corn.
Other tempting entrees on the menu included a pink peppercorn-crusted, grilled Berkshire pork chop, southern fried chicken, and grilled Chilean sea bass with shallot beurre blanc.
As described by Tom Whitaker, the Executive Chef at The Colony, “Fine dining is an art. It is beauty crafted from the finest cuisine, in the most exquisite surroundings, with impeccable service. It is an orchestra, each individual playing their part at the right moment and place to create an experience like no other, ensuring guests leave delighted with more than just a meal.”
