We’ve always been impressed by the AMG models from Mercedes, and the new 2021 GT Black Series seems to take things to a whole new level. Let’s delve into what sets this new Black Series apart and why it’s worth saving up for.

Powerful Performance

One of the most thrilling features of the new GT Black Series is its impressive horsepower. Unlike its predecessors like the GT R and GT R Pro, which had 577 horsepower, this luxury supercar boasts a significant upgrade. With the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, the Black Series has been fine-tuned to churn out a whopping 720 horsepower, making it a standout in the lineup.

This substantial power boost, along with modifications to the engine like a new firing order and crankshaft design, has led to the creation of a brand new engine code for the Black Series. While based on existing AMG engines, this new powerplant is a unique offering in the market.

Carbon Fiber Galore

Mercedes has spared no expense in adorning the new GT with carbon fiber elements. Unlike other models that use this lightweight material for aesthetic purposes, the GT Black Series features carbon fiber components in key areas like the hood, roof, hatch, and front/rear fascia, as well as in the body structure for improved stiffness and handling. Notably, even components like the anti-roll bar, seats (excluding some markets), transmission mounts, and more are crafted from carbon fiber, making the GT Black Series one of the lighter Mercedes offerings at 3,616 pounds.

This extensive use of carbon fiber not only enhances performance but also adds to the luxury car’s price tag due to the expensive nature of this material.

Sophisticated Traction Control

Despite its immense power, the GT Black Series is equipped with a sophisticated nine-level traction control system that allows drivers to tailor their driving experience based on road conditions and personal skill level. From wet weather assistance to track-ready performance with customizable driving modes and preset course profiles, this system ensures a safe and enjoyable driving experience for a wide range of situations.

The interior of the car complements its performance with a sleek design featuring carbon fiber and leather accents, a digital dashboard, and intuitive controls, reflecting Mercedes’ signature luxury aesthetic. While the carbon-fiber seats may not be available in all markets, the overall interior design is sure to impress.

As we eagerly await the launch of the 2021 Mercedes GT Black Series, it stands as a symbol of hope and excitement amidst the challenges of 2020, offering a thrilling driving experience that promises to leave the troubles of this year far behind.
