North America’s 50 Best Bars Ceremony

North America’s 50 Best Bars awards ceremony, sponsored by Perrier, will be back for its second edition on May 4, 2023. The event will take place over three days in San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mexico.

Following a successful launch in New York City in 2022, the ceremony will once again bring together the North American bar community to honor the top bars in the continent. North America’s 50 Best Bars celebrates bartenders, bar owners, and brands through a series of events over three days.

Mark Sansom, Content Director for North America’s 50 Best Bars, expressed excitement about the upcoming awards program, highlighting the excellent cocktail scene in Mexico, which has seen Mexican bars ranked among the best in North America in previous editions of The World’s 50 Best Bars. The event aims to reunite the North American bar community for a series of live events over three days.

One of the highlights of the program is the Bartenders’ Feast, held the night before the unveiling of North America’s 50 Best Bars 2023. This prelude is followed by the prestigious awards ceremony on May 4, featuring red-carpet arrivals, interviews, a drinks reception, and the countdown from No.50 to No.1.

The countdown will be broadcast live to a global audience, allowing bars and cocktail enthusiasts to join in through The World’s 50 Best Bars Facebook page and 50 Best Bars TV channel on YouTube.

Before the ceremony on May 4, the winners of two special awards will be announced to recognize the outstanding achievements of a bar and a bartender over the past year:

– Michter’s Art of Hospitality: Voted for by members of North America’s 50 Best Bars Academy, this award honors the bar that provided the best hospitality experience during the voting period.
– Altos Bartenders’ Bartender: Voted for by bartenders from the listed bars, this award acknowledges a peer who has significantly contributed to advancing the craft of bartending and supporting the bar sector’s recovery post-pandemic.

Following North America’s 50 Best Bars celebration, Barra México, a bar show and cocktail week, will showcase the best of Latin American cocktail talent, attracting bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts from around the world to San Miguel de Allende for these two significant events.
