Lexus has added chef, restaurateur, and TV personality Shota Nakajima to its esteemed team of Lexus Culinary Masters. In his new role, Nakajima will be a brand ambassador, creating exceptional experiences and promoting Lexus’ values of innovation, omotenashi, and master craftsmanship.
Nakajima trained under Michelin Star-rated Chef Yasuhiko Sakamoto in Osaka, Japan, before bringing his mentor’s hospitality approach and Japanese cuisine back to Seattle. He opened his restaurant, Adana, at 25 and has since expanded his culinary ventures with Taku, featuring Japanese fried chicken, and Kobo Pizza, serving Detroit-style pizzas with Japanese influence.
Kevin Higgins, Lexus general manager of marketing, expressed excitement about Nakajima joining the Lexus family, highlighting the chef’s talent in incorporating traditional Japanese flavors into modern dishes. Nakajima himself feels honored to be recognized alongside other culinary visionaries and looks forward to strengthening his relationship with the Lexus brand.
As a Lexus Culinary Master, Nakajima will collaborate with the brand on various marketing initiatives and food and wine events. He has already represented the brand at the Hamburger Hop event at Chicago Gourmet and won both the People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice awards for his Osaka Burger.
Nakajima now joins a distinguished team of culinary experts within the Lexus Culinary Masters program, including James Beard Award-winning chefs and Michelin star-awarded chefs.
