## Mercedes-AMG Focuses on Powerful Performance in the World of SUVs

In the quest to create high-powered performance SUVs that excel in efficiency and style resembling sports cars, Mercedes-Benz has taken the lead with the exceptional design of its latest GLE model. With the introduction of the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, Mercedes has solidified its position by outperforming its competitors significantly, setting a new standard in the SUV category.

The GLE 63 S boasts a powerful EQ Boost starter-generator that complements its already potent AMG-built 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine, generating an astonishing 603 horsepower with an extra 21 hp boost. Not only does it power the 48-volt onboard electrical system, but it also enhances overall efficiency. This enhancement to an already class-leading SUV provides top-tier design, visibility, space for passengers and luggage, luxurious finishes, and cutting-edge features in driving assistance, infotainment, and connectivity.

Tobias Moers, Chair of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, underlines their commitment to driving technology advancement and customer satisfaction. With the integration of the EQ Boost technology and the 48-volt onboard system, Mercedes promises unparalleled driving performance, day-to-day practicality, exceptional traction on various terrains, and comfortable efficiency during long journeys.

Mercedes stands out among its competitors due to its continuous pursuit of excellence across its product range. With the backing of AMG, established in 1967 as a high-performance division, Mercedes enhances its vehicles with a unique blend of power and elegance, setting themselves apart in the market.

During a test drive event in Santa Monica and Malibu, Mercedes showcased the GLE 63 S alongside its larger sibling, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, known as the “S-Class of SUVs.” The GLS 63, also equipped with the renowned AMG 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine and EQ Boost starter-generator, delivers over 603 horsepower. While the GLE focuses on agility, the GLS offers a more imposing design, exclusive features, and accommodation for up to seven passengers.

The GLS 63 impresses with its distinctive AMG-specific design elements, including a striking front end with a bold radiator grille and aggressive front bumper, complemented by a sporty rear bumper with twin tailpipes. The interior of both models features luxurious AMG upholstery, advanced technology like the AMG Performance steering wheel, and the Mercedes-Benz User Experience multimedia system, creating a perfect blend of performance and luxury.

With a starting price of $114,945 for the GLE 63 S and $134,090 for the GLS 63, Mercedes justifies these costs by providing exceptional value and performance that rivals even more expensive SUVs like the Bentley Bentayga. Mercedes, the pioneer of high-performance luxury SUVs with the ML55 AMG in 1999, continues to lead the market after more than two decades with their relentless pursuit of excellence.
