Fairmont Orchid At Kohala Coast Of Hawaii’i Island Is A Majestic Resort

Sink into deep relaxation with alomi Lomi massage or a volcanic mud wrap that integrates the natural therapeutic environment, Native Hawaiian healing arts and locally sourced products.

Get to know the ‘aina and kai(sea) with a number of water- or land-based activities hosted at the property’s beach shack. From a sunrise ocean outrigger canoe adventure to start your day to learning to make lei, playing the ‘ukulele and coconut palm frond weaving lessons, a team of knowledgeable cultural ambassadors share their knowledge and storytelling along the way.

After a long day out at sea or exploring the surrounding ‘aina, the hotel resort presents six dining concepts with seasonally inspired menus. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Orchid Court with their extensive island breakfast buffet and then swing by Brown’s Deli for lunch items to enjoy around the pool or to take off property. Also poolside is Hale Kai restaurant which is another great option for a refreshing lunch or casual dinner to catch the sunset. Local, Hawaiian and Japanese cuisine is shown off at Binchotan Bar & Grill, while the Luana Lounge offers hand-crafted sushi and cocktails in an intimate spot off the lobby. Perched above Pauoa Bay, Brown’s Beach House is the resort’s fine-dining venue which offers one of the island’s most spectacular sunset panoramas and even a separate vegan menu.

“We take great care to source a majority of our seafood and produce from local purveyors, so our guests may indulge in authentic Hawai‘i regional cuisine while dining at our signature oceanfront restaurant, Brown’s Beach House,” shares General Manager Charles Head. “This year, we’re also inviting our guests to harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs onsite at our Chef’s Garden through our new Ulu Pono Garden Experience which offers participants a meaningful opportunity to connect with the ‘aina (land) and learn the stories of the plants and people that make Hawai‘i Island so special.”

The resort also prides itself on going beyond what it means for guests to travel to a luxury resort as they are proponents of mindful travel. In partnership with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority and the Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau and its Island Chapters, Fairmont Orchid actively participates in the Malama Hawai’i programming.Malama which means “to care for”, is shown through the resort’s offerings.

Fairmont Orchid’s Malama Hawai’i package allows guests to receive a fifth night free and daily breakfast in exchange for taking part in a voluntourism activity from select trusted non-profit partners on island such as the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative. This non-profit allows volunteers the unique experience of planting native trees to restore the 275-acre lowland dry forest and $30 from every package booked directly benefits Waikoloa Dry Forest.
