The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, San Diego is celebrating a “rainbow of ranunculus” this year, as an abundance of rain has resulted in thicker stems and bolder colors, according to The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch’s General Manager, Fred Clarke.
This season’s theme is “Live Colorfully,” and the return of Art Alive has been celebrated with a mural at The Flower Fields, which was painted by San Diego artist, Thao Huynh French. The mural is a thought-provoking communal space of solitude in the Butterfly Garden area, and French shared that in an environment full of overstimulation, distractions and chaos, this piece is designed as a form of refuge for the mind and soul. Visitors can also participate in immersive events and activities that embrace this year’s theme, which include wine tasting, flower design workshops and yoga story time about plants and flora.
The Art Alive 2023 event, which raises funds for The San Diego Museum of Art’s exhibitions, education and outreach programs, will take place from 30 March until 2 April.
