The remarkable 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale is set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s at their Arizona event in 2021. This magnificent car embodies the classic coolness that Ferrari is known for and is expected to attract wealthy classic car enthusiasts.

The 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale from RM Sotheby’s is one of only three 375 America Coupes designed by Vignale, accounting for its high price. It was showcased at the 1954 New York World Motor Sports Show and 1954 Geneva Motor Show, adding an impressive history to its already captivating profile.

Exquisite Ferrari

Cars like the 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale are a rarity in today’s automotive industry, making them even more enticing. This extraordinary vehicle retains its original 4.5-liter Lampredi V-12 engine and has been restored to its initial burgundy and silver-grey color scheme with a beige interior, appealing to classic car enthusiasts who value authenticity and tradition.

This 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale from RM Sotheby’s ($2.4m+) was originally purchased by the renowned racing sponsor Robert Wilke of Leader Card fame and has a well-documented ownership history with respected enthusiasts. The Ferrari 375 America, introduced in 1953, continued the legacy of the 340 America in 1951 and the 342 America in 1952. Equipped with a powerful 4.5-liter Lampredi V-12 engine, it shared similarities in chassis and suspension with the 250 Europa GT.

This formidable engine, producing an estimated 296 horsepower, delivered power to the rear axle through a four-speed gearbox. With only 11 Coupes and 1 Cabriolet ever manufactured, each featuring handcrafted coachwork, the Ferrari 375 America stood out both in performance and exclusivity.

Outstanding Condition

As indicated by its price, this 1954 Ferrari 375 America Coupe by Vignale is in impeccable condition. Its dual-tone exterior resembles the original colors from its debut in New York and Geneva. The primary exterior color extends into the interior, visible on the dashboard and in the piping of the beige upholstery.

The interior, typical of its era, is comfortable yet minimalist, designed to focus on driving. The car is adorned with subtle touches of sophistication like a wood-rimmed steering wheel, finely detailed shift knob, door handle, and window-crank escutcheons, enhancing its elegance. Now, all you need is a spare $2.4m if you wish to own this exquisite piece of automotive history.
